PROPERTIES
Drying Time - After application, the drying time of SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT is dependent upon the ambient air temperature and relative humidity. Under normal conditions (70°(f) + 55% R.H.) the acceptable drying time for system continuation is approximately 24 hrs. Under normal conditions protect from rain and harmful environmental conditions for a period of at least 24 hrs. SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT develops full integrity in @ 3 days.
Working Time - After mixing, working time or manageable application time for SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT is approximately 4 - 6 minutes in normal conditions. Times will decrease slightly with higher temperatures and lower relative humidity conditions. Ideal temperature for application is @ 70° (f) and below 70% R.H. It is possible to increase workability slightly by adding a small amount of water (In 2 ounce increments (Maximum of 6 ounces per 5 gallon pail)) to SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
FOR COMPLETE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS SEE THE TEFS APPLICATION GUIDE
Job Conditions - Air and surface temperatures acceptable for the application of SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT must be at least 40°F and rising. NEVER APPLY TO ANY SURFACE THAT IS BELOW 40° F. Apply SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT material only on clear days when relative humidity is less than 85% and temperatures and forecast are to remain above 40°F. Do not apply SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT when precipitation is imminent or forecast within the following 12 - 15 hrs. Allow sufficient drying time before exposure, high humidity and cool temperatures may necessitate additional drying time.
Protection - Temporary protection may need to be provided for a specified duration until SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT has achieved a completely cured state to protect from weather, natures elements and potential damage.
Substrate Preparation - Surfaces should be clean and dry and properly coated with SEALMARK #2001 (MULTI-USE BASE COAT) completely and uniformly. Ensure that SEALMARK #2001(MULTI-USE BASE COAT) is smooth and level and no wall mesh is visible before the application of SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT. Please take the necessary steps to correct and deficiencies in the base coat application before proceeding with the final finish coating. A smooth and level application of the # 2001 Base Coat is essential to a quality and professional finished product. All areas that were applied with SEALMARK #2001 are to be free from dirt, oil, grease and other solvents that could potentially interfere with the bonding of SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT to SEALMARK #2001. All areas that were treated with SEALMARK #2001 are required to be cured before the application of SEALMARK #2002. Also any areas that were treated with SEALMARK #2001 (MULTI-USE BASE COAT) are to be completely covered with SEALMARK TEXTURE COATING. Such areas need to be inspected accordingly.
Mixing Procedures - Thoroughly mix SEALMARK TEXTURE COAT material using a power drill Wind-lock or Goldblatt mixer, at a rate not to exceed 400 rpm. (Mix for approximately 45 - 60 seconds.)
Application - Once SEALMARK #2001 (MULTI-USE BASE COAT) has dried, apply SEALMARK TEXTURE COATING to approved substrate using a hawk and trowel, (for applicable finishes), or proper spray equipment, (for applicable finishes). Consult your SEALMARK Representative for details. When applying to any masked areas take care when removing masking tape. Remove masking tape as soon as possible after toweling or spraying.
Clean Up - Use soap and water for clean up. System materials are water-borne and are non-toxic. Prior to curing, system materials are water soluble. Clean up any spills, overspray, or residue of the system materials before they have time to set. Cured or dried system materials are not water soluble and may prove to be difficult to impossible to remove without damage to substrate or other materials upon which they have dried. Dispose of waste materials and empty containers into an approved waste disposal facility. Never dump materials into storm or sanitary sewers, nor into bodies of water.
STORAGE
SEALMARK TEXTURE COATING must be stored in a continuous environmental temperature of at least 40°F or higher. Storing in temperatures closer to normal room temperature 70°F will result in easier application. ALWAYS AVOID FREEZING. Always store in tightly sealed container and away from direct sunlight. Shelf life of all SEALMARK products are for a period of 1 year after products are manufactured.
CAUTIONS
As with any type of application, take the appropriate steps necessary to ensure that clean up of #2002 is achieved with minimal effort. This means properly tarp/secure application area as to prevent unintended application as product may prove to be difficult to remove. SOME WALL SUBSTRATES MAY HAVE BEEN COATED WITH A CLEAR SILICON WATER REPELLENT THAT WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THE ADHESION OF SEALMARK PRODUCTS. IF APPLICATION OF THE SILICON TREATMENT IS UNKNOWN; IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A TEST APPLICATION BE APPLIED TO THE SUBSTRATE AND CHECKED AFTER CURING FOR ADHESION.
